Delicious Pastries in Paris

December 13, 2009 No Comments

If there’s one thing Paris is famous for (and believe you me, there are MANY) it’s the amazing variety of pastries baked every day.

Proudly displayed like well-behaved kids, each little morsel rests on a little paper petticoat of its own, displaying its delights and tempting the passers-by …

The French love their pastries, and after the choice has been made of what to buy, each delicious piece of yumminess is wrapped individually – giving each pastry such a feeling of importance -  and it’s placed gently in a little tray or box of its own.

None of the buy-it-and-throw-in-a-paper-bag lackadaisical attitude of many other pastry shops outside of France – oh no – these little beauties are treated as national treasures.

As the purchaser, you must also give reverence to your pastries – don’t gobble them down (especially whilst walking down the street). You must wait until you reach your destination, set a little place at your table, make your tea or coffee with care and love.

Only now can you truly enjoy and savour your French pastry with all the fanfare it deserves :-)

Have fun as you taste your way through Paris!!
