Day 6 : Exchanging money for Euros

The Euro – and how much or how little you’ll get in exchange …

Before you leave your country to travel to a foreign land, it’s a good idea to exchange an amount of money which will be at least enough for a taxi when you get to your destination.

I recommend exchanging around $A100.00.

At Sydney International Airport the exchange rate is not in your favour:

$A100 will get you around 50 euro – and will cost you $A9 in fees/commission.

At a cash machine in Paris, I got the following exchange:

$A673 = 400 euro, a much better rate of exchange.

If I had’ve exchanged $A673 at the airport in Sydney, I would have only received about 320 euro.

Yes, I selected the withdrawal amount in euros, then I logged into my bank account online to see what the exchange rate was.
