Day 03 : Sunday afternoon musings in Paris
June 8, 2008 No CommentsWant to learn some French? I created a few ‘sound bytes’ which you might enjoy :-)

I’ve been going over the silk, dyes, wooden frames and other miscellany I have packed in my suitcase … and which I will need to teach the workshop this year.
It’s always so exciting for me to meet new people who want to learn to paint on silk, or expand their skills in textile design – and I just know we’ll have a wonderful time.
The hotel I’ve booked for students is within walking distance of the apartment I’ve rented, which is fantastic. We’re booked in for the Champagne Cruise for Sunday night, 15th June, at 6pm, as our Welcome to Paris for the Silk Adventure – an hour cruising on the River Seine with a glass of champagne in our hand as we depart from the Eiffel Tower. Ahhhhhhh sounds fabulous! I can’t wait!
Over the following six days we’ll be spending time silk painting, using new products, learning new techniques, talking about silk … as well as visiting the silk stores at the foot of the Sacre Coeur in Montmartre, and silk dye suppliers. I’ve also planned a few other treats like a textile museum visit and a picnic on a barge which will take us out of Paris for a half day. Armed with cameras and notebooks we’ll be taking photos and making sketches of things which inspire us.
Oh I’m so looking forward to next Sunday!
Ciao ciao
Teena!
